What we are planning

We are currently appraising the outcome of the 2008 Bach Festival Weekend, hoping to learn some new lessons and devise a strategy for 2010 to mark the 260th anniversary of the death of the great Johann Sebastian Bach.  If we follow the pattern of previous festivals this will be something near to a week of events of all kinds, but please watch this page for news of our deliberations!

We are also in discussion with Chorus Niagara from Canada, about a possible visit by them and a collaboration on an Abbey concert.

Incidentally, if anyone with connections to the Abbey management is reading this, we are very much looking forward to hearing if you have any plans for the improvement of the Abbey acoustics, which once again have drawn less than favourable comments from distinguished members of audiences.  It seems such a pity that an otherwise magnificent setting, particularly for the sacred music which forms a substantial part of our repertoire, should be marred in this way.
