What we are planning

In October we will be once again hosting, organising, promoting and singing in, the seventh Bach Festival of the current series, started by Elizabeth Bates in 1995.  This will also be the thirtieth anniversary of the choir's inception, and Elizabeth has decided that October 23rd 2010 will be her last performance with the choir.  After much deliberation the choir has concluded that, in view of the fact that Elizabeth both started the choir and has been intimately involved with every aspect of its running ever since, the Chantry Singers should cease to exist after that time.  There are murmurings that there may be a 'phoenix' choir emerging to carry on some of the traditions of Chantry, but that would be for others to decide and bring about.

There may also be opportunities for others to take over the mantle of Bach Festival promotion.  If you might be interested do please let us know: we have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share.
